At the end of Day 3 at the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Athens Open WTA 250, the first players to secure their places in the second round of the tournament were confirmed.
Advancing to the Round of 16 of the event, which is taking place in Athens through 19 July, were Maria Sakkari, Qinwen Zheng, Alycia Parks, Lilli Tagger, Sara Bejlek, Elena Micic, Mai Hontama and Harriet Dart, all of whom booked their spots with impressive opening-round victories.
The day's schedule also featured two doubles matches, with the pairs of Carole Monnet / Sapfo Sakellaridi and Eudice Chong / Katarzyna Piter also progressing to the second round.
