Coming to Athens Open with access needs

Athens Open is committed to being a tournament that visitors of every age and ability can enjoy fully. The venue dates from 2004 and has been refit with accessibility in mind — but the best way to make your visit smooth is to tell us what you need in advance.

Below is everything we offer on site, plus the people to contact before you come. None of it requires you to disclose more than you want to.

Parking

Accessible parking on Lot A

32 marked accessible spaces directly opposite the main accessible entrance. Reserve in advance via the accessibility desk.

Seating

Wheelchair seating on every court

Wheelchair spaces with companion seat available on Centre Court, Court 1, Court 2 and outer courts. Sightlines verified by the tournament accessibility consultant.

Hearing

Induction loops + captioning

Centre Court and Court 1 have induction loops (T-coil compatible). On-screen captioning available for ceremonies and major broadcasts.

Vision

Audio descriptive commentary

Live audio-descriptive commentary on Centre Court via the Athens Open app. Tactile maps of the venue available at the accessibility desk.

Sensory

Quiet rooms + flexible re-entry

Two quiet rooms with adjustable lighting and seating. Re-entry permitted for sensory breaks — show your wristband to gate staff.

Service animals

Welcome at every entrance

Registered service animals welcome throughout the venue. Water stations and shaded rest areas marked on the accessibility map.

On the day

What happens when you arrive

  1. 01

    Arrive at Gate A

The accessible main entrance is signposted from Eirini metro station and Lot A. Step-free, ramped, with seated waiting.

  2. 02

    Show your wristband

Visitors with accessibility provisions receive a wristband at the gate. It enables sensory re-entry, priority access on changeovers, and lift use.

  3. 03

    Find your seat with help

Tournament hosts walk you to your seat on request. No need to find your way through stairways — we use the dedicated accessible routes.

  4. 04

    Tell us if anything changes

Accessibility leads are on duty at the main desk all day. If something isn't working — temperature, noise, sight line — we fix or move you. No questions asked.
